Retrospective. Terese Rozanskaite
Curator: Jonas Valatkevicius
II.7 - III.9
Marija Terese Rozanskaite (b. 1933) occupies a special place in the art of post-war Lithuania. She does not belong to any of the local schools and it is difficult to define her works with the help of terminology typical of Lithuanian visual art. She was one of the few artists of the older generation who tried to draw the outline of urban dweller. You will not find in her works traces of countryside or direct interpretations of nature, so typical of non-official Lithuanian art from Soviet times. The situations she develops are deeply rooted in the urban environment.
The solo exhibition consists of paintings, spatial compositions ('boxes') and video documentation of actions.
